Ikebana, a traditional Japanese Way of arranging flowers, originated as Shinto shrine offerings. Currently there are many schools of Ikebana. Training in joining heaven, earth and man is practiced in Ikebana. This practice helps us develop the ability to pay attention to our sense perceptions in a gentle way, and to connect with sacred world.

Everyone is invited to the Ikebana Class held periodically on Saturday mornings. Beginners are welcome but pre-registration is important. Flowers are provided so it is necessary to know how many will attend. The class is $18 which includes the flowers and a donation to the teacher and our center. Additional flowers or branches from your yard will add variety in our arrangements.

Check our Events Calendar for practice dates. Please pre-register by contacting Dixi Gloystein by Wednesday before class at dixig@comcast.net or 303.922.3026. If you need to cancel, it must be done by Thursday noon. Otherwise, you will forfeit the $18, since the flowers are bought in advance. At least 5 students are required for the class to be held.
